Hortipower
Hortipower was founded in 2006 by John Vermeiren, Dirk Van den Plas, and Tom Lefevre, who shared a passion for innovation and sustainable horticulture. John and Dirk, both from horticultural families, decided together with their wives, Karine and Lia, to make the move into tomato cultivation. As early as 1998, John and Dirk had worked together to establish Intergrow, a horticultural operation in the U.S. This marked the start of their joint venture, which ultimately led to the founding of Hortipower.
Since its founding, Hortipower has always focused on technology and sustainability. In 2018, the company invested in hybrid lighting systems for its greenhouses, resulting in an impressive 40% reduction in energy consumption and an increase in tomato production. This underscores the company’s commitment to leveraging technology to build an efficient and environmentally friendly future.

With its slogan, "It's an art to grow tomatoes as sweet and delicious as candy!", Hortipower emphasizes its commitment to growing tomatoes that are not only sustainable but also offer a true taste sensation.
