Since 2016, Tomeco Services has served as the direct, physical link between our growers and our commercial partner, Coöperatie Hoogstraten.
Our growing sites are authentic Belgian family-run businesses with a genuine passion for their craft. Our growers are therefore not just ordinary suppliers; they are the proud founders and owners of this central hub.

The Tomeco Service Center is physically located on the grounds of Coöperatie Hoogstraten. This is a deliberate, sustainable choice that bridges the gap between our greenhouses, strict quality control, and direct sales.

Meet our " Automaatje": an innovative, autonomous vehicle that delivers our packaged tomatoes to the distribution center completely on its own.
Without any human intervention, this autonomous transport vehicle loads no less than 12 million kilograms of freshly sorted and packaged tomatoes at our service center each year. It drives autonomously to the Coöperatie Hoogstraten logistics hub, unloads the cargo flawlessly, and returns for the next load.

Green Energy as a Driving Force
Sustainability is woven into every step we take. Our service center operates entirely fossil-free, powered by locally generated solar energy.
✓ 1,200 Solar Panels – Together, they generate no less than 402 MWh of green electricity annually on the roof of our service center.
✓ 100% Fossil-Free– Thanks to this renewable energy source, our entire sorting and packaging facility operates in a carbon-neutral manner.
✓ Green (Yellow) Transportation – Even our autonomous “Automaatje” recharges its batteries using solar power from our own roof.

Behind every flavorful tomato lies a wealth of data. By centrally collecting and analyzing the cultivation data from all our affiliated growers, we are building a smart, future-proof vision. Tomeco Services serves as the bridge where theory and practice reinforce each other every day.
✓ Scientific trial cultivation – We continuously test as many as 100 trial varieties at the same time in our greenhouses to select only those varieties with the strongest traits, the best flavor, and the highest resistance.
✓ Consumer & Field Trial Studies – Our trial varieties are evaluated through consumer research in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and further developed with the Flemish Field Trial Centers.
✓ Sustainable energy management – Because energy is crucial in modern greenhouse horticulture, we closely monitor the energy market. This enables us to produce in an extremely efficient and responsible manner.

✓ Full traceability (CoC) – Thanks to our Chain of Custody certification, the origin of every box of tomatoes can be traced flawlessly and transparently from the grower to the supermarket.
