ASSISTANT TEAM LEADER, CULTIVATION

Introduction

At Tomeco, we are looking for an Assistant Team Leader for Cultivation who, together with the team leader, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our cultivation activities. In this role, you’ll serve as the Team Leader’s right-hand person, ensuring that planning, quality, and efficiency run smoothly within the greenhouse. You’re a true people manager who motivates and supports colleagues, while also paying close attention to technical details and cultivation processes. As an Assistant Team Leader, you’ll have the opportunity to further develop your skills in the world of modern horticulture, where innovation, sustainability, and teamwork are central. You combine practical knowledge with a hands-on approach and are willing to take on responsibility in a dynamic environment.

What do we expect from you?

assists the supervisor in managing a team of greenhouse staff and seasonal workers.

You will assist with the daily planning of cultivation tasks (such as leaf pruning, side-shooting, harvesting, etc.).

You monitor the progress of the work and ensure that quality and safety standards are met.

You are the point of contact for questions on the shop floor.

You will help train new employees.

If the supervisor is absent, you will take charge.

What is your profile?

You have experience in a manufacturing or agricultural and horticultural setting (greenhouse cultivation is a plus).

You speak Dutch fluently and can also get by in English or Romanian.

You have a sense of responsibility and can work independently.

You are flexible and enjoy working with people from different cultures.

You are hands-on, have a positive attitude, and are solution-oriented.
